KAYAMKULAM: Complaint registered for wooing the voter with pension while casting ballot vote. The incident happened at booth number 77 in Kayamkulam constituency. A personnel from the cooperative bank arrived at the voter’s home with the government's pension amount while she was filling the form for the postal ballot. Congress has filed a complaint before the poll panel and district collector over the issue.
While the voting proceedings were going on, the bank staff finally scrutinised the pension amount and gave it to the old women. A video footage, where he tells the old woman that if Pinarayi government gets another term, then the pension amount will be doubled, has also come out.
Meanwhile, the polling officials say that they don’t know the person who gave the pension to the voter. UDF has also alleged that apart from the staff of cooperative banks, the local branch secretary of the party is also visiting homes to distribute government’s pension. District collector has said that he is investigating the issue.
