THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Shashi Tharoor has said that Congress is the only party that is concerned about the future. If UDF comes back to power then it will initiate a total reformation in the education sector. The LDF government has not helped the people of Kerala with the fuel price hike. UDF’s poll manifesto has given importance to a positive attitude. “The current pension amount given by the LDF government is negligible, if UDF comes to power then the amount will be increased,” he said during an interview given to a private news channel.

The Congress election committee has only met three times. He also added that he had gone everywhere to campaign for the candidates as per the directions of the leadership and his open revelations are meant for strengthening the party.

“The state is drowned in debt. Corruption has plagued even the chief minister’s office. Events that dishonours the people in the state has happened during the regime of the left front government. Even now, the investors do not have the conducive infrastructure to make investments. The single window system is not functioning effectively. The people must think about whether they should get satisfied with the little things that they have now?” he asked.

“The electoral fight in Nemom is meant for informing the centre, that we don’t need the Gujarat model. K Muraleedharan was fielded there understanding his importance. I would have contested if the party has asked me. The party have also given me some more responsibilities in Parliament and it is due to this reason am devoting more time in Delhi,” he added.

“I have requested Chennithala and Oommen Chandy to abstain from groupism. I am not a believer in group sentiments and I have not attended such meetings of the party. Groups should not have any role in deciding important posts of the party and in determining candidates. If such things are done by them, then there will be no relevance for the party. Therefore, groups will destroy the party,” he said.
