THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Even though all the survey reports have predicted another term for LDF, one report has given solace to UDF. The survey report prepared by Rahul Gandhi’s team has given the necessary confidence to the Congress party. Rahul Gandhi’s special survey team holds the view that the party will win from 78 seats. Congress has listed 10 constituencies as unpredictable.
It is estimated that these 10 constituencies can change their leniency once Priyanka and Rahul enter for campaigning in these areas. The change could be witnessed in Kozhikode, Alappuzha, Kollam and in Thiruvananthapuram districts, this is the reason why Rahul and Priyanka are campaigning in these districts. The party evaluates that several CPM strongholds in Kollam and Alappuzha districts are likely to change their commitments towards UDF.
The list also includes Cherthala, Ambalapuzha and Kayamkulam. UDF hopes that in Kollam, where the right front has not even got one seat in 2016, is likely to witness surprise victory this time. Kollam, Kundara and Karunagapally will abandon the left front this time. That is why Priyanka has started her campaign in Kerala from the Kollam district.
Rahul’s survey team also hopes that if a strong campaign programme is launched then UDF can win even Nemom assembly seat. This responsibility was also taken up by Priyanka. UDF team also hopes that if Rahul enters Kalpetta, Mananthavady, Kozhikode North and Nadappuram, UDF will definitely secure victory. Rahul’s campaign schedule is based on this evaluation.
The report has been prepared by including 68 constituencies in the A-plus category and 10 constituencies, where winning chances are higher in the A category. Most numbers of A-plus constituencies are in Malappuram and Ernakulam constituencies. UDF is expecting 11 seats in Ernakulam. In the Kottayam district, they are expecting four seats.
