MALAPPURAM: The Kerala High Court acquitted two accused in the Nilambur Radha murder case. The court observed that the prosecution was not able to prove the crime against the accused. The first and second accused Biju and Shamsudeen alias Baputty approached the high court against Manjeri court verdict awarding life imprisonment to them. The court acquitted them on their pleas.
Radha was murdered inside the Congress block committee office at Nilambur in Malappuram on February 5 in 2014. One of the accused Biju was then a staff of the then finance minister Aryadan Muhammed’s personal staff.
Radha’s body was tied in a sack and dumped in a pond at Chulliyode near Nilambur. The body surfaced in the pond on February 9, and was identified by Radha’s relatives on the next day. Nilambur circle inspector A P Chandran nabbed the accused on that day itself.
Biju killed Radha with the help of Baputty when she threatened to reveal his illicit relations with some women. They killed Radha by thrashing and strangulating her.
