THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: DGP has not ratified the order for taking the case against ED. Instead of him, the file was only signed by two junior superintendents, in the secret ‘T’ section, specially assigned to deal with DGP’s files. The DGP has withdrawn from the move and has sacrificed two ministerial staff after realising the counter move of ED, that it may also take a case against the crime branch officials concerned.

DGP Loknath Behra is one of the enlisted candidates for the CBI chief’s post. He also knows if he takes the case against ED, then he would become a bête noire for the centre thus the CBI chief’s post will remain as only a dream. That is why he has simply withdrawn from the move to register the case against ED. He has also informed the higher officials in Delhi that he has only obeyed the order of the state government and he doesn’t personally agree with their decision to take the case against ED officials. Apart from this, he was in Delhi when the first case was taken, but he took measures to delay its registration.
