PALA: CPM councillor Binu Pullikakandam of Pala municipality has said that he is forgetting the pain of the blows inflicted on him during the council meeting, considering the assembly polls. He said that he has only pointed out the legal issues concerned with the convening of the council meet and the issue which led to fistfight between members is only an internal matter. The issue of calling the council meeting subsequently led to a brawl between the council members.
CPM member Binu Pullikakandom has criticised convening the council meeting. Following this, there occurred a spat between the committee president Baiju Kollamparambil and Binu Pullikakandom. Binu lashed out at the committee members for convening the meet without informing him which subsequently led to a fistfight. The fight finally ended when other councillors intervened between the two and solved the issue between them.
The municipality which stood with UDF for a long time, finally came into the hands of the left front in the recent local body polls. This was done with the help of the Kerala Congress, Mani faction. Binu Pullikarakandom is the lone CPM councillor in Pala. Today both parties are going to conduct compromise talks over the issue.
