BENGALURU: Abdul Nasser Madani has approached the Supreme Court seeking relaxation of bail conditions in the Bengaluru blast case. Madani had approached the court seeking permission to stay in Kerala till the completion of the trial of the case. Mahdani's petition seeks permission to return home citing health reasons and Covid situation.

The lawyer said the court would consider the petition on April 5. The petitioner had said that the prosecution was unnecessarily delaying the trial and the proceedings could be continued without him staying in Bengaluru. In a July 2014 order, the Supreme Court had ruled that Mahdani could remain on bail until the trial in the Bangalore blast case is completed. Madani was granted bail for a number of reasons, including diabetes and heart disease. However, Madani was not allowed to leave Bangalore during his bail period.
