MALAPPURAM: Muslim League leader PK Kunhalikutty has rejected the claims of BJP's CK Padmanabhan that the Congress-League-BJP alliance had existed during the 2001 elections. Kunhalikutty said that he did not remember seeing BJP leaders, including CK Padmanabhan, in 2001. He said that the BJP leader was coming up with such allegations to cover up the embarrassment due to the disclosure of the BJP-CPM alliance.

"I am unaware of such an alliance. I do not remember seeing the BJP leaders. Those who first spoke of such an alliance should come up with the truth. The new allegation was raised in order to hide the secret understanding between the Left and the BJP," Kunhalikutty said.
