KANNUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan slammed opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala for his new allegation. He said that if it is one of the bombs stored earlier, it will also defuse. He said the opposition leader is jealous of the load shedding that never happened in the five years’ rule and should we slam the intervention of the electricity board for that.
Chennithala alleged that the KSEB had signed a 25-year contract worth Rs 8,850 crore to buy power from Adani. While addressing the media, Chennithala said that through this, Adani would make a profit of Rs 1,000 crore. The chief minister was responding to his allegation.
The chief minister replied to the allegations of the opposition in connection with the floods. There was a study report of Water Commission and Madras IIT on floods. Both the reports indicated that the floods were caused by heavy rainfall and that the impact of the floods was reduced due to effective dam management. The IIT report was published in the international scientific journal Current Science. An authoritative study was already conducted. The chief minister said that it is highly doubtful that the present study comes without mentioning or studying anything about that study.
He also accused the opposition leader of trying to create a smokescreen by raising new issues. The chief minister said that if there are double votes, the commission would find and correct it and said the Left Front is trying to find and correct the discrepancies in the local level. Asked if the UDF is doing it, the chief minister alleged that the opposition leader is portraying people as fake voters.
The opposition leader is portraying 4.5 lakh people as fraudulent voters. Pinarayi alleged that many including twin brothers were made fake voters. Chennithala’s close relatives had inadvertently figured in different electoral lists. It did not mean they were bogus voters. The chief minister said that there was an attempt to insult Kerala and pointed out that the right wing handles were spreading rumours that there are 20 lakh fraudulent votes from Bangladesh.
The chief minister accused opposition leader for his attempt to stain Kerala. The chief minister asked what action has been taken by the caller on data security and privacy and whether he can come out with such things when there is a fear of failure. He said that this was an insult to Kerala in the eyes of the world and that it was the opposition leader who criticized when data was collected for Covid disease analysis, he said.
