AMBALAPPUZHA: A Plus Two student died while filming 'hanged to death' live on Facebook on April Fool's Day to prank his friends. Siddharth (Sidhu-17), son of Ajayakumar and Prameesha of Thattaruparambil in Kelamangalam in Thakazhi died at a rented house in Kilirur in Thalavadi. The incident took place at 9 pm on Thursday

Siddharth, who had entered the room with his mobile phone after dinner, was not seen for a long time and when Prameesha opened the door of the room, she saw him hanging from the fan. Screaming out lead, Prameesha cut off the bedsheet and laid Siddharth on the bed. Edathua police, who reached the spot after being informed by the locals, rushed the boy to a private hospital but could not save him. The mobile phone was placed next to the window there was a live session on Facebook. The relatives say this might have happened during an attempt to prank his friends.

His father Ajayakumar was not at home. Siddharth is a Plus Two student of Pacha-Chekkidikkad Lourdes Matha Higher Secondary School. The body is in the mortuary of Alappuzha Medical College Hospital. After the postmortem, the body will be cremated at 12 noon today at the family home in Kelamangalam. Siddharth's only sister is Devika.
