THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the centre has only tried to destabilise the development of the state. “Modi government abandoned the state when it was reeling under floods. He also criticised that the Modi government has even sought money for the quota of rice given to the state,” the chief minister said.

“During the last elections, Modi equated Kerala to Somalia. Now he is showing enormous interest to the state but people will never forget the past experiences and they will give a befitting reply in the upcoming assembly polls,” he said.

“Kerala is not conducive to the growth of BJP. The state will never succumb before communalism,” Pinarayi said. Mocking at the Prime Minister for chanting the Ayyappa mantra during the campaign, the chief minister said that he might have chanted the lord’s mantra after thinking about the things that he said about the state in the past. The Prime Minister began his speech during the poll campaign rally in Konni with the Ayyappa mantra.
