THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Privileges and Ethics Committee of the Kerala Legislative Assembly has served a notice to the Customs. The Privileges and Ethics Committee said in the notice that Customs' response to the assembly when it noticed the violation was an insult to the assembly. Customs had questioned the Speaker's additional private secretary. The action was taken on a complaint filed by Raju Abraham MLA regarding this.

The Customs had served a notice to the Speaker's additional private secretary. Following this, violation of the rules in the first notice was brought to the notice of the Customs by the Legislature Secretariat. Customs' reply to this led to the notice from the Privileges Committee. The notice stated that the assembly rules ​​​​​​were misinterpreted by the Customs. The notice also said that the Customs insulted the assembly by leaking the reply to the media. Meanwhile, the Customs have demanded an extension of time to respond.
