THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Ernakulam CJM court on Saturday allowed to record the secret statement of Sandeep Nair, the accused in the gold smuggling case, in the case against the Enforcement Directorate. The court gave permission to record the statement under CRPC 164 based on the report given by Crime Branch.

Sandeep had said in a statement to the Crime Branch that he was forced to name the Chief Minister and other dignitaries. According to Sandeep, the ED officials forced him to name the Chief Minister, Speaker, KT Jaleel and Bineesh Kodiyeri in the gold smuggling case.
