NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court will hear the Lavalin case on April 6, when the Assembly elections in Kerala will be held. This is the fourth case in a bench headed by Justice UU Lalit in Court No.4.
The apex court is hearing appeals filed by the CBI against the acquittal of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and other accused, and the appeals filed by Kasturiranga Iyer and R Sivadasan Nair against the verdict directing them to face trial, and the petition by Congress leader VM Sudheeran. It was postponed several times as the CBI asked for more time. Earlier in the day, Justice UU Lalit had said the court would intervene only if there was strong evidence in a case where the trial court and the high court have made the same decision.
