THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 2802 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 2446 persons developed the disease through contact including 208 cases without an identified source of infection. 132 persons who came from outside the state tested positive for the virus. 16 health workers contracted the disease on Sunday.

2173 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 27,893 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 10 deaths due to the virus on Sunday with the toll rising to 4668.

In the last 24 hours, 45,171 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 6.20.

With the addition of 4 new regions and the removal of 2, there are 359 hotspots in the state.
