KANNUR: KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran said that the CPM should support the UDF candidate to defeat the BJP in Manjeswaram.
He asked if the CPM was ready to move with the UDF for this. He was speaking to the media in Kannur.
The UDF has fielded a strong candidate against the RSS, including at Nemom. However, the CPM is fielding a weak candidate in Manjeshwaram. He is closely associated with a RSS gold merchant. The CPM-RSS base is active.
"The artistic program held for the election campaign of the Chief Minister in Dharmadam is a waste of lakhs. Pinarayi Vijayan spent Rs 200 crore on PR work. Pinarayi was called the captain by the PR agency. The LDF has made regional moves with the SDPI in 72 constituencies", Ramachandran said.
The UDF does not need the votes of the SDPI in Manjeshwaram and the BJP in Thalassery, he added.
