NEW DELHI: PDP chairman Abdul Nazar Madhani is a dangerous person and has been involved in serious crimes, said Supreme Court Chief Justice S A Bobde. The court made the statement while considering his plea seeking permission to return to Kerala citing serious health issues and financial difficulties.

Madhani’s lawyer told the court that there had not been a single complaint since he was granted bail in 2014. He also pointed out that the Supreme Court itself had given permission to go to Kerala twice.

Justice V Ramasubramaniam, a member of the bench considering the case with Bobde, pointed the doubt whether he had considered a case involving Madhani during his tenure as Madras High Court judge. The apex court then postponed the case to next week. Jayant Bhushan and Harris Beeran appeared in the court for Madhani.
