KOZHIKODE: KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran said that there is an SDPI-CPM understanding in the state. "The CPM has said it has no ties to extremist Islamist groups. However, they are holding hands in 82 places", Ramachandran said.

Mullappally reiterated that LDF workers in Manjeswaram should support the UDF.

"There is no difference of opinion within the UDF in this regard. In Manjeshwaram, the CPM fielded a weak candidate on the basis of an agreement with the BJP. Recognizing this, real communists are expected to support the UDF", he said.

However, Mullappally added that the UDF does not want the BJP votes anywhere.

Earlier, Oommen Chandy had reacted to Mullappally seeking LDF support in Manjeshwaram to defeat the BJP. "The UDF has the ability to defeat the BJP. No support from anyone is needed", he added.

Oommen Chandy said that it was proved in the last election and the same will happen this time as well.
