THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Shashi Tharoor MP said the chief minister should not have remembered Sabarimala and Lord Ayyappa on the election day. He said the problems in Kerala would not have happened if remembered while sending them to Sannidhanam with helmets and flag jackets. He said that he does not take seriously having belief in Ayyappa on the day of voting and this is to deceive the voters. He said this while responding to the media’s query about Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's statement it's not just Ayyappan alone, all God's are supporting the Left Front.

This situation would not have happened if those wanting God's blessing had respected devotees. We say Sabarimala is an issue. It is a great thing that the state government does not respect the trust of the people and that is what the people see. When I hear them talk today, it's not enough, it is too late,’ Tharoor said.

Tharoor said he expects the UDF candidate in Nemom to get more votes than what he garnered in the Lok Sabha polls. O Rajagopal is a good human being and respects him a lot, Tharoor said and asked what has he done for the constituency in the past five years. When asked whether the UDF has a captain, he said all are comrades for us and that means we all work unitedly, replied Tharoor.
