THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM politburo member M A Baby asked NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair to clarify whether he raised the Sabarimala issue on the election day for the UDF leaders. He pointed that when Mannath Padmanabhan Nair tried to correct the wrong practices of the Nair Community there were many who opposed it then. Baby came to the fore against Nair’s statement that the devotees are still protesting and the public wants a change of rule.

Baby said there is nothing wrong in calling Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan as captain. These are just some names used in some phases during the growth of leaders. Some leaders will become the symbol of the front. It’s only natural for a team to have a captain. The LDF would easily fetch around 100 seats, he said.
