KASARGOD: BJP state chief K Surendran alleged widespread anomalies in the state assembly elections. In many places the postal votes are not received in sealed boxes. The election commission should intervene urgently to ensure transparency of the postal votes.

Surendran said the candidates were not informed of the total number of postal ballots printed in each constituency. The political parties should have the right to know where are the remaining postal ballots. The election commission should reveal the details of how many postal ballots were printed, how many were used and how many are remaining. The CPM had set up a special organization facility to handle the postal votes. The CPM has conducted training in all districts to manipulate postal votes using government officials (CPM leaders) and booth level officers. There is no transparency and security on postal voting, alleged Surendran.

Violence is being unleashed after elections with the knowledge of CPM leaders. The attacks are being carried out in many places by joining hands with the SDPI. The police are not ready to arrest the miscreants, he said.
