KANNUR: UDF candidate Satheesan Pacheni from Kannur has lodged a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer seeking action against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for his remarks about Lord Ayyappa and other gods on election day. Satheesan Pacheni had lodged a complaint against the CM's election day statement that "Lord Ayyappa and all other gods are with this government".

According to Satheeshan Pacheni, the CM's remark is a blatant violation of the Code of Conduct for Elections. The code of conduct stipulates that requests or references that provoke caste or religious sentiments should not be used to seek votes. The complaint was accompanied by a CD containing footage of the Chief Minister's remarks.
