THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Left Front is likely to win 85 seats or more in the Assembly elections, according to the state intelligence report. The report has been handed over to the Chief Minister. The report says that the UDF will win only in the Kovalam constituency in Thiruvananthapuram.
According to the report, the LDF will win all the other seats in the district. At the same time, the UDF hopes to win up to 93 seats this time.
The front hopes to retain 90 percent of the seats. The LDF estimates that the BJP will not have a favorable result in Manjeshwaram, Nemom and Konni constituencies.
BJP state president K Surendran is contesting from Manjeshwaram and Konni this time. In Kazhakoottam, the LDF estimates that they will win with a majority of 5,000-10,000 votes and that they can win in the Thiruvananthapuram constituency.
In Kazhakoottam, Kadakampally Surendran of the LDF, SS Lal of the UDF and Sobha Surendran of the NDA are in the fray. In Thiruvananthapuram Central, the contest is between LDF's Antony Raju, UDF's VS Sivakumar and NDA's Krishnakumar.
