THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Lokayukta is considering the letter, given by minister KT Jaleel in an official letter pad to the Minority Welfare Department Secretary, as important evidence against Jaleel in the nepotism controversy.

The minister issued the letter to change the qualification requirement for the general manager post in the Kerala State Minorities Development Finance Corporation. Jaleel wanted the qualification for the post to be BTech with PGDBA so that Adeeb, his cousin, could be eligible. Based on this letter, the Lokayukta concluded that the minister had committed nepotism, abuse of power and violation of oath.
