THRISSUR: Minister V S Sunil Kumar has said that the customs of the Pooram will be discharged in the usual manner. He said during an interview given to a media outlet.

The district collector has given a letter to the chief secretary to convene a meet to discuss the steps to be taken for conducting Pooram. In the letter, the collector has requested to discuss the measures to control the crowd in the meeting.

The health department has expressed its dissent over increasing the participation of the people in the Pooram. Thrissur DMO has also pleaded to the state government to have a rethink on the issue. Meanwhile, the devaswoms has said that DMO is attempting to destroy the Pooram and the health department’s statistics of increasing covid cases is unreal and inflated.
