KOLLAM: A nine-member group of miscreants barged into the house of Suresh Babu, a native of Vilakkuvattom Pandrandu Acre in Punalur, attacked and killed him. He was 59. He was attacked last night at 10 pm.

His wife Latha and son Surjith sustained injuries in the attack. He was declared dead while taking to Punalur taluk hospital. The body is kept at the mortuary of Punalur taluk hospital.

The Punalur police have taken two into custody and have identified other two. Mohanan and Sunil are the two in custody. Police said a verbal dispute broke out between Suresh Babu’s son and Mohanan.
