KOCHI: The copter carrying Lulu Group chairman M A Yusuff Ali and his family crash landed in a marshy plot Sunday morning. The helicopter crash landed into the marshy land at a stage when it was about to lose control in the heavy rains.

Apart from Yusuff Ali, his wife Shabira and three secretaries were in the chopper. None was seriously injured in the accident. ‘Felt like God dropped me there. If it was somewhere else,’ Yusuff Ali said about the moment he saw death face to face.

Yusuff Ali and his family returned to Abu Dhabi from Kochi early Monday morning in a special flight. Abu Dhabi royal family send the flight for their return. His further treatment will be abroad, informed Lulu Group.

Yusuff Ali left boarded the copter that bore the logo of his group, from his house in Kochu Kadavanthra, to visit his relative undergoing treatment in Lakeshore Hospital. The copter crash landed after calling on his relative near fisheries university ground in Panangad. The helicopter made an emergency landing at a safe place, due to sudden deterioration of weather conditions and heavy rains to prevent any risk to life of those on board and to the public at large.
