THRIKKAKKARA: The investigation into the drowning of 11-year-old Vaiga in the Muttar river is focusing on some people in the Kangarappadi Sreegokulam Harmony flat where the family was staying. The statements of some of the flat dwellers about Vaiga's death and the disappearance of her father Sanumohan are contradictory. Following this, three people were called to the Ernakulam DCP office yesterday and questioned.
The police have repeatedly questioned the person who had given the statement that Sanu had carried Vaiga to the car on his shoulder on the day of the incident. The credibility of this statement is also in doubt. It is alleged that the police have received some crucial information from the flat dwellers. The investigation team concluded that some people were involved in the incident knowingly or unknowingly. The DCP had questioned those who were financially close to Sanu at the flat and at the station. The fact that some flats were given for daily rent has made life difficult for the police.
The investigation team also got information about the film personalities who used to come here regularly. Officials of a leading film production company gather in the flat from time to time.
Car registered in the name of Remya
The KL-7-CQ-8571 Volkswagen Ameo car used by Sanu Mohan was registered in the name of his wife Remya. The car was bought on February 16, 2019, at the address of Kangarappady flat. Sanu reached Coimbatore in this car.
Investigators found that Sanu had been regularly travelling on the Kodungallur route for the past six months. He was also caught on camera for speeding.
