KOZHIKODE: The Kozhikode Vigilance court postponed to April 23 considering the case against K M Shaji MLA for amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. The investigating officials will inform court the details of the search conducted at the houses of Shaji in Kozhikode and Kannur.
The special unit of the vigilance seized Rs 50 lakh in the search conducted at his house in Kannur. The raid which started yesterday morning ended in the night. The raid was a political revenge game of the chief minister, said Shaji.
Kannur block panchayat president Padmanabhan had lodged a complaint with the vigilance that Shaji accepted Rs 25 lakh for sanctioning plus two in a school in Azheekode constituency. A preliminary investigation was started against Shaji in November. The enforcement directorate had also conducted a probe to find the source of his income.
