KOZHIKODE: Three fishermen were killed and 9 are missing when a ship rammed into a fishing boat last night. Those who ventured into the sea for fishing from Beypore Sunday night met with the accident. The Mangaluru coastal police confirmed the death of three people. The deceased have been identified as Manikdas from West Bengal, Alexander from Kulachal, Tamil Nadu, and his relative. The information obtained is that the incident happened sixty nautical miles off the coast of Mangalore.

ISB Rabba, the boat owned by Jaffar of Beypore met with the accident. The boat has been completely damaged. The ship involved in the accident has not yet been identified.

Coast guards’ ship Rajdoot and a helicopter have intensified search. There were 14 in the boat. Two have been rescued. Of that, seven are natives of Tamil Nadu and the remaining are natives of Bengal and Odisha. It is known that no Keralites are there.
