THRISSUR: The Parameakkavu and Thiruvambadi Devaswom authorities have informed that Thrissur Pooram will be conducted in an effective manner this time, by adhering to covid 19 protocol. “Those who come to take part in Pooram should have the Covid 19 negative certificate or the vaccine certificate issued within 72 hours. People with such certificates will be allowed to enter into the pooram grounds, only after scrutiny by police and health officials. Those above 45 must have either of these two certificates,” the devaswom authorities said after the meeting held under the aegis of chief secretary in Collectorate.

The devaswom authorities further said, “those who are working for both devaswoms, should produce the covid negativity certificate or vaccination certificates. Measures to control the crowd will be taken after consulting with the police. Checkpoints will be maintained on all 19 roads in which leads to the heart of the city. When the Pooram commences, all-important roads will be closed down. Children below 10 years of age will not be allowed to enter. Those above 45 will be allowed to enter if either Covid negative certificate or vaccine certificate is produced. We will Neither reduce the sheen of the pooram nor compromise the pooram customs.”
