THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 7515 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 6747 persons developed the disease through contact including 534 cases without an identified source of infection. 198 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 36 health workers contracted the disease on Tuesday.

2959 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 52,132 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 20 deaths due to the virus on Tuesday with the toll rising to 4814.

In the last 24 hours, 73,441 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 10.23.

With the addition of 14 new regions and the removal of 1, there are 416 hotspots in the state.
