THRIKKAKKARA: The police on Tuesday questioned five persons living in the Kangarappadi Sreegokulam Harmony flat in connection with the disappearance of Sanu Mohan, father of 11-year-old Vaiga who was found dead in the Muttar river.
The man who had mortgaged the house from Sanu for Rs 10 lakh, the man who claimed that Sanu had carried Vaiga on his shoulders to the car while she was unconscious, the office bearer of the Residents' Association in the flat, the person living in the flat opposite to Sanu's flat and the person who used to regularly travel with Sanu's family to the Kollur Mookambika temple were questioned by the police. Some of these people have been questioned many times before. They were questioned again as their statements were contradictory. The interrogation started at 10.30 am and lasted till 3.30 pm.
The police also decided to question some of the film personalities who were stayed in the rented flat of Sreegokulam Harmony in the third week of March. Police had earlier found that some of the flats here were being illegally rented out.
There are indications that the investigation into the Vaiga case may be handed over to the City Crime Branch under the Kochi Police Commissioner. The crime branch will be headed by DCP Aishwarya Dongre.
