THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: DYFI state president AA Rahim has said that if anyone calls him 'Luttappi', he won't see it as a negative. "Part of it is that I ignore it. Also, they are mentioning a popular character", he said.

Rahim made the remarks at an event hosted by a private channel in connection with Vishu.

"I got that name in connection with a rally of Mullappally. An attempt was made to change the color of the character of Luttapi. There was widespread protest on social media against this. A popular movement emerged in Kerala against this. At the same time, Mullappally was brought in to save Congress", Rahim said.

"Mullappally's march at this time had no popular support. More people protested for Luttappi. At that time, a note was posted on Facebook saying 'Call Luttapi ... Save Congress'. With this, I was called Luttappi. Social media is a free street. There will be different kinds of people there," Rahim said.
