KOZHIKODE: The collector has clamped 144 in containment zones in the wake of massive surge of Covid cases. Public and private gatherings in cantonment zones have been strictly prohibited.

Employment and essential services have been exempted. Rituals and ceremonies should be performed in places of worship. Not more than five people should attend it. Sectoral Magistrates appointed to monitor will ensure that they adhere to Covid norms in the containment zones.

Information on the containment zones that analyze the spread of the disease is available on the Covid Awareness Portal. The collector directed police chiefs to take strict action against those violating the regulations. More than a thousand people are diagnosed with the virus in the district every day.
