KOCHI: Fausiya Hassan, one of the chief accused in the ISRO espionage case, has made a crucial revelation. Fausiya has said that officers including Ramon Srivastava have compelled to issue a bogus statement against Nambi Narayanan. “They told me that they need my testimony against Nambi Narayanan and Shashi Kumar. When I rejected their threats, they beat me up and further threatened me that my daughter will be raped in front of me,” Fausiya told a television channel.
“I gave the testimony in front of the camera out of misery. They made me a spy woman. I didn’t even know the name of Nambi Narayanan. When the testimony was given, they wrote down his name and showed it to me from behind the camera. I just read out his name from that board. At that time, Raman Srivastava was comfortably sitting on a chair, watching this ordeal. I saw Nambi Narayanan for the first time in my life, in the interrogation room,” Fausiya Hassan said.
“I am still suffering from many serious health problems which occurred to me due to the fatal blows of the police at that time. I also deserve compensation like Nambi Narayanan,” she added. Mali native Fausiya is now residing in Colombo. The revelations made by Fausiya could become crucial as the CBI has started re-investigating the conspiracy involved in the ISRO case. Fausiya has also said that if demanded, she will cooperate with CBI on re-investigation.
