KOCHI: Although the police intensified search for Sanu Mohan, father of Vaiga, who drowned in Muttar River, no information was obtained about him. Sanu Mohan was residing in Kakkanad Kangarapadi Sri Gokulam Harmony flat. It is suspected that he has entered Kollur forest area. The police have sought the help of the forest department officials in the investigation. The CCTV footages installed in the forest area are being examined.

The police have obtained CCTV footages of him staying in a tourist home near the Mookambika temple for six days. He took a room here on April 10. The tourist home staffs said that he left from here on April 16 without paying the rent of Rs 5,700. He gave his Aadhaar as identity card when he took the room. The staffs couldn’t recognise him. However, in a search conducted after he left without paying the rent, they came to know that he was Sanu Mohan wanted by the police. They immediately informed the matter to the police.

The tourist home staffs said though he stayed here for six days, they did not feel anything unusual in his behaviour. On the morning of the day he left without paying the rent, he sat near the reception and read the newspaper. He then told the staff that he is vacating the room and asked them to arrange a cab for him to go the airport at 1 pm. He then left the hotel with a small bag saying that he is going to the temple to get the prasadom. The staff realised that he had fled after failing to turn up when the car came to pick him. The police have also collected the footages from the tourist home.

The police have received information that Sanu Mohan after leaving the tourist home reached Kollur bus stand, boarded a private bus and reached the forest area. The locals who saw the clippings informed the police. They said he had a small bag in his hand. Following this, the police launched a search in the forest areas. Police suspect him to have fled to Goa. Sanu Mohan and his daughter Vaiga aged 13 were missing on March 20. She was later found dead on Muttar River.
