THRISSUR: Congress leader and former speaker Therambil Ramakrishnan said that Thrissur Pooram cannot be postponed like the exams. He says that it is the government that has promised to hold the Pooram to hold the Pooram in a grand manner and why it should be held without the people.

"Pooram should not have been declared as an election manifesto. Now the government is in no position to back down", Therambil Ramakrishnan criticized.

Paramekavu Devaswom had come to the fore with the allegation that there was an attempt to sabotage Thrissur Pooram. BJP spokesperson Sandeep G Warrier had also said that Thrissur Pooram should be held and rituals should not be subverted.
