ERNAKULAM: With the COVID crisis intensifying in Ernakulam district, an online meeting convened by Health Minister KK Shailaja decided to take immediate action to keep the situation under control. The minister called a special meeting yesterday evening. The Kalamassery Medical College will be made a complete Covid hospital again. Domicile Care Centers (DCCs) and CFLTCs will be set up in five days in collaboration with local authorities. The district-level meeting will be held on Monday.
Decisions
1. 100 ICU beds will be prepared at the Aluva District Hospital next week
2. Fort Kochi Taluk Hospital will be fully converted into Covid Hospital.
3. The super-speciality block at the General Hospital will be ready for Covid treatment in a week.
4. 1000 oxygen beds will be prepared in the government sector. Oxygen availability will also be ensured.
5. Necessary staff will be appointed in the hospitals
6. 10% of beds in private hospitals will be reserved for Covid treatment.
