KOLLAM: A KSRTC women conductor got injured after a migrant worker attacked her following a dispute over his luggage ticket. Roshni, a conductor at the Attingal depot, was attacked by Maharashtra native Omprakash after the former asked for his luggage ticket. Following the incident, Omprakash was taken into custody by the East police.
Roshni, who sustained a fracture on her right arm, is undergoing treatment at the Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. The incident took place at Chinnakkada junction around 12 noon yesterday. Omprakash, who boarded the bus from the Attingal stand, sat in the front seat of the bus. The conductor who saw the box under the back seat asked whose it was, but there was no response. When the bus reached Chinnakkada, Omprakash took the box from under the seat and got ready to get down. Upon noticing this, Roshni confronted him and asked him for his luggage ticket. Following this Omprakash, attacked her. Omprakash was later handed over to the police by the passengers of the bus. Police said they were questioning the accused and investigating his criminal background.
