THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Supplyco authorities have come out dismissing the opposition leader's allegations that the distribution of Vishu kits came to a halt after the elections. In its press statement, Supplyco stated that the herculean task carried out by its employees to distribute the kits should not be underestimated.
The distribution of kits for April will be completed within two weeks. The required kits for March are ready and sealed. In addition to the 16 lakh kits distributed so far for April, 12 lakh more kits have been prepared.
Preparation of kits for March started on March 8 and distribution to cardholders started on March 12. Preparation of kits for April was also launched on March 24. Distribution started from 30th. So far, 75 lakh cardholders have received the March kit. 16 lakh cardholders also received April kits.
Given the shortage of staff in connection with the election and the need to vacate the school buildings that were used for packing, it was no small feat to be able to deliver so many kits to the people. 4 lakh kits are being packed daily. All goods are in stock in the ration shops.
