THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 13644 COVID-19 cases on Monday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 12,550 persons developed the disease through contact including 826 cases without an identified source of infection. 230 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 38 health workers contracted the disease on Monday.
4305 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,03,004 active cases in the state.
The state confirmed 21 deaths due to the virus on Monday with the toll rising to 4950.

As part of the mass testing, 3,00,971 samples were collected on Friday and Saturday from different parts of the state. 87,275 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 15.63.
With the addition of 9 new regions and the removal of 1, there are 468 hotspots in the state.
