THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As the Covid is spreading rapidly, Kerala government has launched 'Back to Basics' campaign. Everyone should wear masks, maintain social distance, and clean their hands from time to time. Ensure that you will not spread or contract the disease. The Covid defence system in the state is now better equipped than it was when the first wave hit. Therefore, the people need not worry and the best treatment will be provided by the government, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan wrote on Facebook.

"According to ICMR's Seroprevalence study, Covid affected only about 11% of the population in Kerala. It should be noted that the Indian average is about 25 percent. We were able to do this because of the vigilance we showed. We were also able to hold the death rate better than elsewhere. This was due to the ability to set up the necessary systems for treatment. In this way, the world has accepted the model of careful defence put together by the people and the government. At this stage, we need to recover that model with more vigor," he said in a Facebook post.
