KOCHI: Renowned businessman, founder of Popy Umbrella and chairman of Popy Group of Companies TV Scaria (St. George Baby-81) passed away in Kochi on Monday. The funeral will take place at 11 am today at Mar Sleeva Forane Church Cemetry in Alappuzha. He is survived by wife Thankamma Baby, children Daisy Jacob, Lali Anto, Davis Thayyil and TS Joseph.

Scaria, who started working with his father at the St. George Umbrella Company at the age of fourteen, was known as St. George Baby. He founded Popy Umbrella Martin in 1995 and initiated exemplary changes and modernizations in the market. In 2005, he became the President of the All India Umbrella Federation.
