THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Central Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Kerala for the next five days. There is a possibility of rain with thunder and winds blowing at a speed of 30-40 km/hour in isolated places in Kerala from April 20 to 24.

Yellow alert has been sounded in Idukki, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod districts. Heavy rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is forecast in isolated places in 24 hours. The Met Office warned that chances of thunderstorms are high between 2 pm to 10 pm.
