THRISSUR: A man accused in the case of stabbing to death a woman dentist was found hanging. Mahesh, accused in the case of stabbing to death Dr Sona, daughter of K S Jose and Shirley of Valiyakulangara near Koothattukulam, was found hanging in Chottanikkara.

Mahesh, who was staying in Chottanikkara for the past two days, was not seen outside for a long time yesterday. The employees of the lodge informed the police and when opened the door found him hanging in the ceiling fan. The Supreme Court had cancelled the bail granted to Mahesh, arrested in the murder case, by the high court. He went into hiding and took a room in Chottanikkara on April 20. The Chottanikkara police after completing the inquest proceedings shifted the body to the mortuary of Thripunithura Taluk Hospital.

Mahesh tried to stab Sona to death on September 29 in 2020. Seriously injured Sona succumbed to her injuries on October 4. Dr Sona and Mahesh, a business partner, were living together. A dispute following financial issues led to the murder.
