KOZHIKODE: The vigilance is questioning K M Shaji in the case against him for allegedly amassing wealth beyond his lawful sources of income. He is being questioned at the Kozhikode vigilance office. He produced before them the documents of the money seized in the raid. Shaji had sought a week’s time to produce the documents when he appeared before them on April 16.

Shaji said more than Rs 47 lakh seized from his house was collected from ordinary people for election expenses. Sources close to him said that he appeared before the vigilance with more proofs regarding doubts on his assets.

Shaji constructed houses in his wife’s name in Kozhikode and Kannur after becoming MLA. The vigilance team will question his wife seeking more clarification on it.
