NEW DELHI: When many states are grappling without getting enough oxygen, Kerala is an exception. In addition to storing adequate oxygen for the state, Kerala was able to supply it to other states as required. Kerala supplied 20,000 litres of liquid oxygen to Goa. R Venugopal, nodal officer for oxygen distribution in the state, said oxygen is supplied to Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Lakshadweep. The production of oxygen has also increased. When 50 litres of oxygen was produced in April 2020, this year it has been increased to 1250 litres.
Kerala is the only state to have used Covid vaccine given by Centre without wasting a single drop. This has been made clear via RTI. The figures are as of April 11. More vaccines were wasted by Tamil Nadu. There are 10 doses in one vial of the vaccine. It should be used fully within four hours of opening it. Otherwise it will be unusable. Reports said 44.78 lakh doses were wasted by other states. As on April 11, 10.34 crore doses of vaccines were distributed to various states.
