THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has said that the state is going through a crucial phase. “The state can get rid of the pandemic, only if everyone stand together. The opposition will work with the government during this critical phase,” he said.

“The preventive activities should not get limited as pomp and show. The opposition will cooperate with the all-party meet to be convened by the government. The covid-prevention activities should be undertaken with caution and vigil. Authorities should be able to regulate the rush and crowding witnessed in hospitals and the government must ensure all life support systems including the availability of oxygen. Donations to CMDRF should be encouraged,” he said.

“Center must give vaccines free of cost to states. A high priority system must put in place to give vaccines to those who belong to the high-risk category. A special system must be made to vaccinate people in tribal areas. Adequate facilities should be made available to transport oxygen cylinders from Kerala to Delhi,” the opposition leader said.

“The government must intervene to stop district collectors from issuing different types of orders. The distribution of free food kits must be strengthened further. While presenting the budget, finance minister Thomas Isaac has assured that vaccines will be distributed in the state free of cost. What he said in the budget is an utter lie,” he added.

“Lockdown must be avoided. No victory celebrations should be allowed on the vote counting day. A purported attempt is being made to crucify G Sudhakaran. There are serious issues in Alappuzha CPM,” the Congress leader said.
