NEW DELHI: The United States has promised help to India in the wake of an unprecedented rise in Covid-19 cases. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, "Our hearts go out to the Indian people in the midst of the horrific Covid-19 outbreak. We are working closely with our partners in the Indian government, and we will rapidly deploy additional support to the people of India and India's health care heroes.”
Meantime, 3,49,691 people were confirmed of the virus in the country in the last 24 hours. This is the highest daily number so far. With this, the total number of infected persons has crossed one crore sixty-nine lakhs. Presently, more than 26 lakh people are undergoing treatment.
2,767 deaths were reported in the country yesterday alone. With this, the total deaths rose to 1.92 lakh. Only 2.17 lakh people have been cured in the last 24 hours. The total number of patients cured has crossed one crore forty lakhs. Vaccination is also progressing. More than 14 million people have taken the vaccine shots.
